About ETC

Ethereum was founded in 2013 by an inventive programmers, Vitalik Buterin, and Gavin Wood, and its native token Ether (ETH) was released two years later, in 2015. A well-known 2016 DAO hack on the Ethereum network led to conflict within the community, with one group choosing to create a new network via a hard fork from the blockchain. This new fork is called Ethereum (ETH), with its native token Ether, while Ethereum Classic (ETC) is the original. Its token is also known as Ether when used on the Ethereum Classic network, or more commonly, Ether Classic in general circles. Open source and based on a Proof of Work (PoW) consensus, (like Bitcoin), ETC supports Dapps, decentralized applications, and Smart Contracts, which are blockchain-stored programs that let developers create new, individual applications on the network. Because Ethereum Classic is the original legacy chain, many people identify its creators as Buterin and Wood, Ethereum’s creators. With many similarities between the two networks, Ethereum Classic nevertheless aims to differentiate itself from Ethereum. One difference? ETC has a maximum supply limit of 210,700,000 ETC tokens. ETH, on the other hand, has no cap. While the value and price of assets fluctuate for an array of reasons, comparing these two Ethereum -based tokens, some traders might prefer ETC/USD because of its capped maximum.
